Testing Facilities

Test Cabins For PV Windows

This CIEMAT testing facility was designed for testing and monitoring semitransparent BIPV modules under realistic operating conditions. It helps develop new testing procedures and assess models for the BIPV modules’ energy-related properties, such as module temperature, thermal transmittance, or solar heat gain coefficient. Some examples of monitored parameters are in-plane solar irradiance, indoor and outdoor ambient temperatures, wind speed, module temperature, and output voltage and current. All the parameters are jointly monitored. It also allows the comparison of the behavior of two BIPV windows with different structures or technologies.
